I have read it and it aint too bad. One thing i hate though is the 60 day waiting period, meaning that the cover is only for 10 months per year. What info are you gathering in 60 days in this day and age and how does it improve your business process? Once again its a way of insurance companies stealing from their clients. Period.

Can one start using the policy immediately after applying and paying for it?

The policy has a two (2) month waiting period as follows:
Natural illnesses but treatments as a result of accidental causes are covered from commencement date.
Death as a result of natural causes. Death as a result of any accident is covered from commencement date

Not stealing from their clients but protecting themselves from bad risks. You can imagine people rushing to buy insurance only after they fall sick. So someone waits until they get sick, they rush and pay 12k to get the cover then the insurance copmany is left with a 100k plus bill to pay Shame on you Shame on you Business has to be sustainable my friend.

It is not a good cover at all. For anyone.

Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

Thanks Taka jua

Mawider; you may wnt to go through the list exhaustively.
This cover has taken away a lot of the worry for my parents' health and ability to pay.
Haven't experienced in-patient yet. can't comment about that yet.

seems decent, might consider trying it out, can you please confirm the figures at least what you paid.
12k annual premium for outpatient cover of 50k and inpatient cover of 200k.
apart from the 100 bob paid per visit, does the card cater for all other op expenses including medication, lab charges and stuff. hakuna kutumwa kwa chemist fulani

The verdict for the second iteration is in: (F)ailed
...at least going by this article that now seeks to reposition the offering for SMEs in a third iteration - a strange idea as Safaricom has never launched a market-leading SME product.

Only 36,000 subscribers tried it, out of expected 1 million target from 21m customer base. Britam's brouhaha couldn't work the magic.

Recently, I know a lady who was admitted at Coptic Hospital, ICU, then HDU and then normal wards. Bill accumulated to 125k in 5days. Linda Jamii paid. She is now on outpatient observation and she is still using it. It saved the family a big headache, for just 12k.
