shida ni, color black has already been de-monized and white has been 'god-ified'.
its like a person calling you 'mafi ya kuku wewe' and you respond back 'kuku choma na kachumbari wewe' smile

I dont know if anyone else has gotten that kafeeling when you watch simba cement advert on TV. From the advert, the caucasian guy seems to be the overall boss, the asian guy is the designer or qs or architect, and the miro guy is the one with the kofia, obviously the one on site constructing.... Ai, the people who did this ad did not have this market in mind, its off in my view

@lisa, this is a psychological problem that afflicts educated men and women in Africa and all peoples of African decent outside Africa W.E.B Dubois was point on about it when he said:

"The problem of the twentieth century is the problem of the color-line—the relation of the darker to the lighter races of men in Asia and Africa, in America and the islands of the sea."

surprisingly, i never saw the racial angle of that ad. The only thing i noted is lack of real substance. fake buildings and overpasses and a lion shows up from some upmarket street.... looks so fake and makes me second guess if the product isnt as fake. however, if they'd brought the same guys, same hierarchy (which i had not even noted anyway) but relevant footage with real buildings that we can relate with, probably it would be a sell for me.

In any case, show me one mzungu or mhindi you found at the construction site with a "kafiro"..... This is our market, our people do the constructions and we should be proud of the work they are doing..... look at the highrises that have come up? there is nothing wrong having the kofia and overall.
