Time always tells. It seems here is again a classic case of Kenyans accepting Kenya as it is - enough is enough!

Let me tell you, it's now evident that the guys should have been fired before they could say 'washa taa'. That's how it's done in leading companies in Kenya, and leading economies elsewhere. It's nothing personal, just business and the reputation of Kenya.

I am with KR on this one. If Muhoho, his board and top mgt cannot fix the problem(s), they have to take responsibility and GO!

NOTAM (Notice to Air Men) from Kenya Civil Aviation Authority notifying all the airlines that use JKIA that the runway threshold lights at (JKIA) do not meet the minimum requirements for a safe night operations as required by ICAO.(International Civil Aviation Organization)

As a result of this and in conformity with their (Kenya Airways safety standards) they have decided to suspend all night operation into and out of JKIA.

A whole regional hub has no Business Continuity Managemnt programme? No back-up for such a strategic national asset that JKIA is? And it won some funny quality award recently!

How much are airlines losing from delayed/ cancelled passenger and cargo traffic? And more so at such a critical time when families from abroad are re-uniting via flights! How much bashing is the reputation of jkia -and by extension,Kenya - getting from this crap?

This is exactly what my argument was about before some people misconstrued it to mean that I was suggesting we get a 3rd airport merely because runway traffic lights had malfunctioned at JKIA. The issue was broader than that as is now evident - if we had a 3rd airport the traffic would merely have been diverted to it. JKIA is a regional hub, it doesn't need an alternate/back-up - it actually demands it.

The faster we see the backs of granpa Muhoho & co.the better for such a strategic asset as JKIA.
