Gff, I hope you didn't buy many.

They were not many but I have managed to bring the average to 3.45 after buying massively at 2.90 and am still buying at 3.10
Me thinks you should stop giving Murang'a people a bad name by buying dead companies.Quit Msc and buy good stuff.Buffett always says dead companies seldom turnaround.Quit Msc,quit.

The sugar sector is greatly wanting and stopping illegal imports not easy! Even with diversification MSC would take so looooong to double its current price unless they "cook figures" in another thread I said nobody cares for this sector given regions in contest lack visionary leaders. Miwani Muhoroni Chemilil Sony Butali and now MSC all these have been collapsing in succession with full warehouses and no market. I know there are those cashing on small gains btwn 3.00-3.90 but if u expect it to double (7.00>) ..........tafakari.
www.standardmedia.co.ke/...op-illegal-sugar-imports

Thanks guys but am only in MSC to regain my initial capital but not for huge capital gains,,,I will sell at any price above 3.40.
@ Alibaba, my mistake was not buying into a dead company coz it wasn't when I bought but I failed to cash out when the red flag was raised but I can now sell without loosing any cash.

You should also consider the opportunity cost for time your cash stays in Msc as you average down vs investing in other counters.

True that but I didnt see the essence of cashing out at 100% loss while I had a chance of averaging down in less than an year and get back my cash intact, we all make bad choices sometimes in investments and NSE is no exception.
Am actually offloading all of the cash before next week ends, and am having difficulties predicting my next counter. what do you guys think about KPL?

Fair value of KPLC is around 21/= so the current price is a discount. All the same, the counter at times tends to climb at a snails pace so it may require alot of patience before you can realize sizable gains.

Yea, it seems to be one of the few undervalued counter. I think it has not had any major thing worth propelling it. Am weighing my options and this will be on my wishlist.

I had this MSC @ 4.50 avg then saw the danger and cut my losses @ 3.50. I distributed the loss in 3 other stocks I had . 2 of them have done well; absorbed the loss fully and moved into profit. 1 dissapointed but I'll recover soon. Hii mumias is VEEEERY tricky you could easily be wiped out to zero (0)

I disposed half of my holding in this earlier on, am wishing I disposed the entire thing.

I'll have to wait with you for a mitigated price i.e. if we don't go into liquidation.

@Akenyan ppl are running while others are getting in. It's clear MSC isn't recovering any soon if it'll ever happen. whoever is buying now can afford losing the 2.70 bila kunungunika saana . polee seems you're trapped in this MSC & KQ.

I have small amount of msc price averaged to 3.1; I may consider shipping out but then I think the floor is not too far. It seems to be taking the Neveready footsteps: remember how it got to 1.6 when it looked written off. I don't know if they have much land as part of its assets. I am only scared of Msc being wound up. But then Njubiree might see some sense of protecting the sugar industry and support the laggard. I have seen the recent 'reforms' aimed at agricultural and industrial sectors.

For KQ, I know the dynamics and am safe, thank you.

I think this surgery will either kill the patient (mumias) or will heal the patient and leave them stronger than before. I guess only time will tell.

Before the share pludge they wanted to do a rights issue so i see no meaningful capital gains because they need money madly and should the share price improve then a rights pap.

WHY? What informs your decision? With headlines like this "Mumias Sugar to retrench 300 in turnaround drive" Its about time you ran away so so fast
