EASSy CEO has attacked TEAMS and SEACOM of deliberately denying consumers the benefits of broadband connection through exorbitant pricing. He believes this should drop by no less than 70%..........and not 20%........

Safaricom has scored another one by becoming the first Kenyan company to offer real broadband Internet speeds to its subscribers following the activation of the undersea cable link.

Hi guys,I don't know how true this is but maybe you can give it a try...

Hi All,

This is to inform you that there is a free internet service. If you have a wireless comp, try and search for Loopnet.

This free internet service is a partnership between Loop Media Africa and Kenya Data Network,KDN.

Currently it is only found in Nairobi, but it is expected to roll out in the rest of the country soon. This service will also be available in Tanzania,Uganda,Rwanda and DRC in the next couple of weeks.

Kwa hivyo usiseme ati you can't get internet...iko.

Kama iko swali...do not hesitate to ask.

Be the change you want to see in the world...

Topic 1: how to search for wireless networks

Buy a laptop with a wireless network card

Take your laptop with you into your car.

Switch on laptop and wireless network card.

Drive around town until a notification appears on your laptop 'Wireless network detected'

Open the notification and check the list for the desired network i.e. LOOPNET

Connect to the network...

Look out the window to ensure your car is not hanging from a cliff...

Search with your phone!

WLAN (Wi-Fi) enabled phones eg Nokia Xpress5800,several Nokia E or N series, iphone, blackberry etc ... search phone types HERE

With Nokia Xpress go to Menu >Tools >Settings >Connectivity >Wireless LAN(scanning>>>>>> ) . If that Loop thing is available, it should appear.

EASSy has been promising speeds lakini it has taken them over 2 yrs to get going. Let us wait till EASSy gets here before we complain about TEAMS & SEACOM.

This industry is going to go through some serious shaking up. Guess who is going to be shaking things up? Not safcon, not AccessK

KDN is now licensed as an ISP. Before they had licenses as infrastructure operators until the ISPs starting doing infrastructure - while most of their clients are on blue (broadband) and KDN(Fibre & Broadband). So who wants to finish who?! Who has the bigger guns? Let us see how this will develop. I see someone losing some ground....the battle lines r drawn.

Hata hizo shares,angalia sana!

I have never been able to get onto butterfly... So until I see it... I will have to stick with safcon/telkom for my internet needs.

Where can I get butterfly?
