Scrip Dividend = Bonus Issue with tax and sometimes cash option!
In very simple terms a Scrip Dividend = Rights Issue

How is it a 'Bonus Issue'? Please explain. With examples. And please don't use Home Afrika as an example.

@VVS. please explain how its a rights issue. I thought rights was when new shares are available for sale at a lower price for existing shareholders.
First, let's read how it's a "Bonus Issue" d'oh!

For every Kes. 15.90 of dividend you get a scrip share. In other words, for every 15.90 shares you get one script share

Reminds me of one CFCI AKI agent of the year. She would have recruits signing Life Insurance forms at pass out parades. This lads would just fill the forms thinking it was part of the graduation procedure! And I can bet she is in the mix of this deal and smiling all the way to the bank. Applause Applause Applause

If you check the trades today, demand was high and supply asks pegged high,i foresee drama once this translates into cash, meanwhile they were acquiring something in tanzania.

And so when is this happening? Is there a process? How does one choose the option to get cash or the shares?

My thinking is that there must be a document to be sent to shareholders to choose their option, should this be the case, and given this pple are so mean with information,we can be talking of third quarter
