Bamburi Cement has confirmed it will pay a Sh6 interim dividend even before it releases its half year results.
The cement maker on Monday said that it will be keeping its books open for longer than the July 4 date it had issued following its failure to issue financial results to support the notice made on Friday last week.
“As Bamburi Cement is not at present in a position to issue interim financial results to support the notice, we hereby request that you ignore the register closure dates contained in the said notice. We will re-issue fresh dates with the half year results,” said the company secretary in a memo to the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

Circus indeed. And the reason given is not convincing enough since the book closure was not in the first place pegged to release of HY results.
