People have conflicts with themselves because others are their reflectors. People means society.
So when we walk away we repeat the story of the 'good Samaritan'. Why did the good Samaritan take his time, and resources to take care of a person he scarcely knew? Why was another person his issue?
Did the Pharisee walk away from the issue? Didn't he walk away from himself? Isn't that the mark of hypocrisy?
Some words can inspire one to folly and duplicity, though masquerading as wisdom.
