Meaning the equipment is also 15 yrs old? Printing technology has changed so rapidly that NMG's press which was 'state of the art' as recently as 10 yrs ago is about to be replaced.....

Wrong!! Printing technology has not changed much in Africa as a whole. A 15 year old printing machine may not be very old in Africa. NMG's press has been in use every day and night for 17 years apart from 1 day in a year. The technology they use is not very common in the region, mostly used by newspaper presses only.

Fact is:- Kenya is the 2nd biggest foreign investor in tz after GB. Tz/Kenya trade balance is currently in favor of tz. More recently, Nakumatt bought out the SA supermarkets. Member, KCB, NIC, I&M, DTK, Jubilee, UAP, KQ, NMG, REAL ins, CIC, cables, sameer etc are all in TZ. Tz is the first and only EAC parliament so far to ratify customs union protocols. Myths about tz biz environment being hostile to Kenya is just that - myths.

This biz is located in main industrial area, near the airport. It is also a very well established popular brand. Inbox matzo dot msasani at gmail dot com if interested for details.

If technology hasn't chnaged much, why is it so much cheaper to print wedding cards, diaries in India, and much better quality too?

I said in Africa. In other parts of the world, it has changed. But then again, it is not mostly about technology, it is more to do with costs such as paper, energy, labour, plates, and costs of doing business.
