I had a look at 12.01 pm and I noticed only 23 out of the 55 counters have traded this morning. Has Christmas started early? How can we have not a single trade in a blue chip company for the whole day? Is this normal?

lakini... even on the best days I have never seen all 55 trade...

On normal days maximum of 40 counters seem to trade.

The AIMS hardly see anything:
City Trust
Williamson
Kapchorua
Limuru

Only Express has trades on a regular basis.

Others with few trades are Jubilee, Rea, Kakuzi, Marshalls, Eagaads.

I haven't seen a trade in Orchards in many years!

22 ounters are active today. Imagine a day without a single BBK, KPLC or BAT trade.

BBK over 208,000 shares
KPLC 116,000 shares
BAT 13,000 shares

Are you looking at the same info I am?

@VVS

There were trades yesterday. If you check list for the previous day, you will notice that we have this situation at times

@Fund - I am looking at the prices/sales as of 10.48am

BAT - 14,500 shares
KPLC - Only 500 shares but it seems yesterday's heavy buying cleaned up demand. I think this is a share that is being overlooked. I am in KPLC. No more cash!
BBK - 19,800 shares

@Fund - The problem at the NSE is lack of market makers. I am not sure what the requirements are to be a market maker or even if NSE allows market makers.

I do agree that as we approach the holidays the trading volumes will drop like a rock. For those buyers who are 'patient' there could be some great buys as desperation forces many to sell.

@Wazua, I've seen what is the problem. @FundamentAli, SCOM always trades. If you look at the table clearly, high and low prices are shown but because the price today is equal to the one yesterday, -- are shown for change.

Admin you must write zero or something so it's not confused with the ones that didn't trade which show 0.00 for high and low. Only Bamburi didn't trade and shows high low of zero zero.
