@muriel, you can try this. This challenge has not been given today, it was given 1400 ago. "No doubt We have sent down the Qur'an and surely We will guard it (from corruption)" Quran 15:19.

This verse is a challenge to mankind. It is cleat=r fact that more than 1400 years have passed and not a single word of this Qur'an has been changed, even though disbelievers tried their utmost to change it, but they failed miserably in their efforts.

SO be our guest!

On the contrary, all the other books (Torah, Psalms, Gospel etc) have been changed.

Personally I started with the NIV. I still have it. I used to mark and make notes all over it, you know, the key points till it was 'falling apart'. (A smart alec quote I have not forgotten is the bible is bread for daily use not cake for special occasions)

I have not thrown it away, I still use it for reference and comparison. they are both now falling apart, lol.

But there are certain things I now know that I could not have known had someone not thrown a spanner in my NIV study works as it were.

@muriel, what do you know now, which you couldn't have known if someone had not thrown in some spanners?

I have no much knowledge about Daniel. Daniel is not mentioned in the Quran.

The prophets mentioned by name in the Quran are 24, amongst the more than 124,000 Prophets God sent to the earth over time.

God says in Quran 4:163-165:
163 We have sent thee (O Mohamed) inspiration as We sent it to Noah, and the Messengers after him;
We sent inspiration to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.
164 Of some Apostles We have already told thee the story; of others We have not; and to Moses Allah spoke direct.
Apostles who gave good news as well as warning,
that mankind after (the coming) of the Apostles should have no plea against Allah: for Allah is Exalted in Power Wise.

I knew Daniel in the Bible as a Prophet of God to the Israelites.

So since Daniel is not mentioned by name in the Quran, and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not mention his name, I cannot confirm nor deny his Prophethood.

Also, there is no name for Daniel in the Arabic language. We have other names in Arabic
Yusuf for Joseph,
Yaqoob for Jacob
Ayyub for Job, etc
