Initially Hon.Ruto used to shout about Hague all the way......and he thought the entire world is full of gullible 'leaders' like Kenya.Now that he has realised the world means business he is scared stiff to the bones....

@Bambam

I dont hate Ruto but am just curious just as i wonder why Martha Karua used to support Local Tribunal when she was minister of Justice but now she roots for Hague....am non-aligned to either but for justice to the Kiambaa/Naivasha and other PEV victims.

why change of heart( chameleons).....are our politicians guided by ideologies?

Our interest is justice.
We shouldnt allow ourselves to appear as though our happines is to nail a particular individual for parochial interests.
However I guess everybody seems to expect that Ruto's name is in the envelop because of his posturing during and after the skirmishes.

Remember his repeated utterances that the warriors were fighting for democracy.
Very insensive to the victims,that he is today asking to concetrate on farming and ignore the prevailing dabate on how best to achieve Justice over the matter.

That the warriors should be released from police cells!

He even tried what for all intents and purposes appeared as blackmail to Raila when the latter seemed to run out of steam and consistency in exerting pressure to have the arsonits/murderers released.

For all that and more,Ruto remains the embodiment of the atrocities in the rift valley - the main theatre for the PEV.

It is diversionary to bring issues of Kenyatta and the unfortunate Kisumu deaths.
Whenever a head of state's security has reason to believe that his safety is in jeopardy,they move all out to contain the situation.
Ama ukitaka,fanya fujo mbele ya any head of state. Try Obama the leading democrat,he will never know what happened to there after,for you will be smithrens.

The other crooks,such as Mungiki chief,Sabaots shoud have justice meted out on the too. But theirs is at a different level and can be satisfactorily handled within the existing court systems.

I want Ocampo to name the people on the list and as has been stated here,many expect Ruto there,I also expect Uhuru Kenyatta and those who funded mungiki,John Michuki,Police Comish General Ali and the Kisumu OCS at the time.

There was state sponsored assasinations and shoot to kill orders in Kisumu which were even captured on TV. Infact I suspect Obama is very keen on the state sponsored terror.

The order to shoot to kill over 90 protestors in Kisumu and targeting one ethnic community is the primary definition of genocide and I believe forms the basis of the findings by the KNHCR.

Fungua envelope.

I also hope those who sponsored the rigged elections will be delt with,but that can be done locally,they will be sharing cells with Mungiki foot soldiers on one side and kale warriors on the other,talk of being between a rock and a hard place.

I've noticed the youth in particular coming in to a workplace with a completely outsized notion of their own value and importance... just a thinly-veiled arrogance. May be the credit crunch induced recession is whats needed to remind us all about the value of hard work.... By Anonymous

Mutula said that if the envelop is opened and names put in public,it will affect administration of justice to those named whether they are guilty or not... well,thats the i dont know roman law or whatever he called it... Be as it may,what we as kenyans need is to see justice at all levels. Mutula should ask himself why kenyans and a section of the Mpigs and most of whom were not involved in the PEV are not for the local tribunal. its because we have not spec of trust with our judiciary... since he took over the ministry,we havent heard much of what he has done to restore our confidence... and more importantly at this time that he is trying to convince us tht we can justly try those involved in PEV right here in Kenya. We would love to see that happen here,but who can trust our leaders one bit? The most they will do is put in the small fish but leave the big ones breathing fresh air together with their victims. the other bill they were trying to pass and which wangari martha was so much supporting was full of loops that would have left the buggers free! Lets see what he comes up with... and i hope if it is as flawed as the last one,it will be defeated on the floor of the House.

Whoever organised to have people killed will answer charges at the Hague.
I dont know about the police commissioner or any other person within the security system inasofar as PEV is concerned. May be,may be not.
However,Michuki and probbly the Police commisioner may have something to say about Kwekwe squad,its operations and people's disappearance,only for their lifeless bodies to be eventualy found in thickets at remote places.

Police carry guns all the time,not as ornaments,but to be used when they come across serious cases such as;
Looting,Economic saboteurs,arsonits etc.
In such cases you can not hold it against the police,otherwise,what do we buy them guns for.
Simple demonstrators are to be merely dispersed, and no excessive use of force is expected.
This has to be examined carefully to draw the right decisions.

Uhuru's case is tricky as far as I am concerned.
Seemingly,he had more than a casual hand in the Naivasha assault.
Tell me though, given the period it took and the number of victims,does his case fit into what ICC persues.
Make no mistake about it,I dont raise such a question out of insensitivity to the innocent people who were brutally murdered in Naivasha,nor do I pretend to hold Uhurus brief.
If Uhurus actions amount to crimes that interest ICC,I am afraid,he will have to face his accusers and suffer the consequences.
