Walmart will swallow everything else we have. Not good for the country and economy at large. Its always better to guard the economy from such giants. The customers of Uchumi should demand quality even if it will involve going thru the social/media. But substandardness is not a preserve of Uchumi. Customer service in Kenya went to the dogs. Walmart is coming whether we like it or not...

And if Uchumi continue like this I wish they get crushed because a competitive market has no time for mediocrity!

I personally only shop there when its life and death...

Was at Uchumi Aga Khan walk some weeks a go, got a kebarb to eat on the go, after the first bite, it was like charred remains of a cat. A second bite and I had to throw it away into a dust bin. Egg Chops are even worse. In another branch, the 101 Macadamia pack got finished and when I enquired, they said the small ones on 30 bob must finish before they restock the 101 pack. Six months down the line, no restocking has ever been done.

Ciano has done his turnaround job extremely well.

Compared to Tuskys or Nakumatt, Uchumi has no vibrancy about it. I think the outfit needs a new CEO to take it to the next level.

Its now trading at 12 bob. Time for awakening is now, otherwise forget expansion.

Uchumi is really wasting its goodwill with Kenyans. Such a shame. I'm watching Mulleys Supermarket, formerly Peter Mulei Supermarket.

@Murchr you are spot on about the customer service in most Kenya Co.s it's like they are doing you a favor...on Uchumi I really find it hard to see what's difficult with having clean shelves clean store and stocking up with products needed by customers...The number of complaints should tell them they are doing badly.
