I finally got the money - but it is not the one that had been sent to Magigi. Apparently, my phone had setting issues and was not sending or receiving messages hence it was a futile effort to establish the balance. There was also another big lesson for me today. Apparently, Safaricom pursues what economists refer to as third degree price discrimination in service delivery. Can you imagine that I got through to their customer care with minimal issues when we used a friend's post paid line while they had the nerve to keep me waiting for hours on ridiculous music and adverts? To make the long story short, the agent gave the transaction reference and they were able to establish from the system not only what I was complaining about but also some other creditors who had paid up. All is well that ends well - but the credit goes to Magigi for demonstrating integrity. Keep it up.
PS. I met one customer who had mistakenly sent 30k to the wrong number who psychologically prepared me for the worst.
Thought that happens everywhere... in banking (advantage/prestige, etc), places with VIP seating, etc...
