How, where, what and why should we be "judged" seeing that "we" have judged no one "ourselves"?

No or Yes? I'm confused.

just curious - does @tycho ever use that phrase?

It has been used in the context of "Tycho".

I can't imagine @tycho saying 'i'm confused' smile although it's quite a natural thing to happen

Yes.

'Confuse', being a transitive verb, is easily transformed into passive constructions - a fact of grammar that is not unknown - especially when used in the present perfect, past perfect, future perfect and present progressive tenses.

Hence, it is indeed left to the imagination to hear 'I'm confused.' from brother. Slick! smile

'Confusion' is a description of experiencing 'cognitive dissonance'. And such dissonance is simply a call to work. Though linguistic manipulation to 'cover up' experience is one strategy of work, I prefer the 'logic' route which tends to reveal. Illuminate.

That maybe but logic cannot take the place of language. Language and its accompanying grammar must not, cannot, be disregarded, deprecated or allocated less worth in 'preference'. Indeed cognitive dissonance - confusion - Babylon - is everywhere. Here.

lol.

Muriel,

Allow me to disagree. We are passing judgement every time we rush to point fingers. Every time we set aside our superior intellect and wade into the gutter. Every time we join a race to the bottom, as if there was a prize for the one who will be first to destroy this beautiful country.

That said, I hope there is some adult supervision in our house of leaders, seeing as we seem to all think that this is where our salvation lies. Otherwise, when Kenya truly burns the fire will not distinguish between tribe, religion or political party. Ask most of our neighbors.

Individually, it is done all the time. I am still skeptical that a collective decision has been made. It would imply unanimity, or something of the sort - majority - to be termed 'generation'. I thought that there has been no such declaration from 'us' today hence the possibility of a similar declaration happening in future is ,,,, nought.

I agree on the need for "supervision". The details can come later.

I think Onyango Obbo's piece in the DN today captures it better that I ever could. By turning against each other as we have, we have gifted Alshabab with a present they could never have dreamed of. A self inflicted knock out.

They must be laughing themselves silly to see Kenyans doing their dirty job for them.

Yes. I now see. I too have read it.

I read somewhere that even Masukuma and Harrydre are now toning down their war chants - a tacit agreement that we indeed have given ourselves a mortal wound. The unspoken agreement, congruence of judgment.

On that score, we are judging ourselves harshly, deservedly.

This is good. I only wish such sense could be found among our leaders.

Uhuru, Raila and Ruto have each claimed to be statesmen, interested only in the welfare of Kenyans. Yet they are now engaging in a pissing contest as the nation goes to the dogs.

1. Uhuruto - seem to feel that setting aside their ego's for the sake of the country will somehow show they are not real men.

2. Raila - apparently never learned from the past and seems to think ultimatums and ill explained demands are the best way to achieve constructive dialogue

3. Both - seem to think approaching every issue with an open mouth, and a megaphone to boot, is the way of leadership.

What kind of leadership is this?

Actually logic is an elementary language. Concerned with measurement, operations, Creation. 'Ordinary/ common' language is a more generalized form of language.

Hhmmmmm,

I see. If logic is an elementary language, then it is language nevertheless.

I say let's have responsible leaders. They need to weigh their words before they open their mouths. It's next to impossible for a Wazuan to pick a Machete to hack anyone no matter how mad they could be, but that's not true for a villager or unemployed uneducated idle youth somewhere.
