The two main reasons why birds and animals migrate as I understood it is feeding and breeding. Egg laying animals and birds are very particular about where they lay their eggs. All conditions must be perfect so they search for such areas. So my guess would be breeding. But it's strange. BBI will solve it :)

"Science" is not reliable.
By what means will you confirm or debunk any scientific fact ? Mtu biz, Obviously through another instrument of measurement outside of and not among these 5 senses. Logically, there is no other way. Ok. What would be the interface between you and this instrument outside the 5 senses ? "Intuition".

Ask @nonstoppingthis My biggest scientific intrigue is the double slit experiment in the study of Quantum Mechanics See dumbed down version... Classic.Without an observer there are many possibilities but with an observer it behaves as 'expected'.So who's observing the universe so we can have expectations of normal behavior?

Ask @nonstoppingthis My biggest scientific intrigue is the double slit experiment in the study of Quantum Mechanics See dumbed down version... Quantum mechanics is full of weird intrigues. My favorite is entanglement or, as Einstein derisively termed it, 'spooky action at a distance.' By any kind of logic, entanglement should not be possible. Yet the Canadians have just used this principle to build the first working model of a quantum computer. "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth." (Niels Bohr)

QM is quite exciting....new works on multiple entanglement states show possibilty of violation <C speeds. Quite exciting the Chinese are on it

The big question is: why does it have to fly from Alaska to New Zealand, afterall there's food around the neighborhood. @quicksand, think more about the time factor. Not the distance. Time, 9 days 9 nights non-stop over oceans, cities, deserts... the bird flies! @impunity, surely what kind of question! You're wondering to track a bird? How do they track baboons, elephants, rhinos etc. ama according to you it's easy to track something that walks but not that flies? @wakanyu, there's one bird which flies non-stop too. One brain sleeps while the other works, then fail-over applies. SUBHANALLAH! PRAISE BE TO ALLAH THE BEST OF MAKER! How are they able to track a bird that far but not a plane in Indian ocean.. just wondering
