Not just the army but any disciplined forces where you take orders without asking questions

Nuff said!
Those sharp fellows are actually very indisciplined, and never last long down there (service members)

yeah... people who can put 2 and 2 together should not join the disciplined forces.... let them be entrepreneurs and exercise their brains and be happy while doing it.

Then we'll have no defense forces.

yeah... if the other countries did the same... we won't all need 'defense' forces. they are expensive, they feel entitled kumbe people are lining up kukula risasi.

Africans made similar mistakes and paid dearly for it. The Songhai empire fell because it couldn't match the times. The army wasn't 'modernized'. We're facing the same challenge. Like the U.S. is now increasingly relying on artificial intelligence for warfare- robots that will soon be more intelligent than humans, built of materials we hardly understand.

Once again it will be the maji maji uprising again. We'll look for wisdom and find none. Karangi will become a shaman and pray that the waters he'll pour on his warriors will work against nanotechnology.

You're mistaken. Take a look at the strong armies of the world, do they shun learning?

Alexander the great was a philosopher, so was Genghis Khan, or Askia the great of Songhai. An army is driven by ideology, empires rest on ideologies.

Sun Tzu doesn't demand obedience but intelligence and wisdom from his readers.

You can't win a war without wisdom and knowledge.
'Putting two and two together'.

On such circumstances I understand @Tycho, Applause Applause Applause Applause

Is 'wisdom' (out of experience) synonymous with 'brightness' (sharpness)? I believe my grand father was very wise, but was he bright?

Yes. The problem is we have been alienated from knowledge that we think there's a difference. 'Wisdom' here entails indigenous systems, 'brightness', 'assimilation'. Like a rat learning it's way in a maze. That's the problem.

Tyhco, don't you think that is a contradiction? How can a human being build something than is more intelligent that him/her.

It then implies that if the robot can develop a problem then the human being won be able to notice or repair the problem.

Kirangi is right. The army hires someone to be soldier not for them to immediately take study leave and be away at university for 4yrs, sometimes doing irrelevant courses, and then leave the army for greener pastures when they graduate. Some organisations/companies do not also like employing top candidates because they will soon leave for further studies. Such candidates are never focused on the job and spend alot of company time and resources looking for scholarships and greener pastures.

LOL! Tycho receives an order to fire. Just imagine the JUCHE that would mess up the comprehension of such a simple order!

He will ask "whaat is an order and why should I call you sir?"

He will tell the commander that an order is not supposed to be followed but should be internalized!

These are expert systems that continuously acquire knowledge and using logic can come up with new facts/rules. This being the case, it can be assumed that they will continuously grow intelligent till they exceed humans intelligence smile
