Just FYI for those with children in International Schools:

Apparently, this past Tuesday 10/06/14, an Isuzu brown pick-up truck, with white bonnet, double seat rows, and plate number (withheld) pulled slowly into one of the International Schools (name withheld) driveway at around 12:30. When the school guard went to approach the car, he observed two men of Ethiopian or Somali origin photographing their gate and perimeter. As he got closer to the car, they rolled up their tinted windows and sped off.

A statement was given to the Kileleshwa Police Department who circulated the plate numbers. The Diplomatic Police Unit, UNDSS and the Anti- Terrorist Police are all involved and carefully monitoring the situation.

Further investigations reveal that this vehicle was also observed photographing other international schools in Karen on Monday 09/06/14.

In light of this information, one of the schools Board has decided to close the school for two days - today Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13. They
do not assume there is an immediate threat, however they need time and space to gather as much pertinent information as possible from these security units over the course of the next two days to put appropriate security measures in place for Monday morning.

This threat seems specific to learning institutions for foreign staff children but it may not be limited to the same. This is a new development in how the terrorism threat is shaping up and adding to the complexity of Kenya's security context.

Has been on for some time, I know one which closed for some time after parents stopped taking their kids to school, another one now has GSU officers in the school using civilian clothes!!!

raila would not target the rich. those will not show up for mass actions even if all their schools were flattened.
