I am in a dilemma and I need your advise. I would like to transfer all my shares to my children.

Is it possible to transfer shares from one person to another, or must one sell them first thru the NSE and the other person then buys them there?

How can avoid incurring brokerage charges?

Are shares in certificate form or Cds,If Cds acc you just need an affidavite from your Lawyer stating the relationship and execute CDS 7 (children over 18 year) and relationship is first class with your broker for free they will submit the doc at NSE and if less than 100K it done faster if more might take up to 6 months CMA is involved.

Thanks for the info. At least I now know where to begin.
Most of my shares are in CDS form, with only one in certificate form.

What if you want to transfer the shares to a sibling,spouse,or friend? what's the process??

Private transfer is applicable where there is a relationship by blood or marriage and first generation relationship as in from grandpas to grandkids From Nominees to individual accounts it's also applicable.Friends apana PT, lazima iwe commericial transactions

What could be the rational for interdicting transfer btwn friends? is it to protect the broker (commissions)?
