it is surprising that you are conflicted on how to feel. this is wrong on so many levels.

We all know the inconvenience rioting students many at times cause innocent public, we also agree this can't be the best solution hence my dilemma bro!

University Students have always been an elitist lot that feels more special than the people who live around their Universities. Ask the farmers who live near Moi University or the locals who live next to Maseno. It is very crude but on this one am with the residents of Kisumu. The grievances the students had was with their school but the property they destroyed and the inconveniences they caused was felt most by the residents. Ili iwe funzo kwa wanafunzi wengine..... I think they should move all the major Universities to Kisumu...

Ok the beating is not good the ladies.......but then again its also not good for ladies to join the strike especially the rowdy ones more so for flimsy reasons like cultural night.

I guess am happy and pray wengine wamejionea na wamesoma.Their grievances should never affect my freedom of movement nor destroy my property.

Community policing at its best.

I get the inconvenience part and the latter part is just one of the many things wrong with this. but how sure are you that the ones being beaten were the culprits here? from my experience in college the guilty ones usually escape leaving the innocent to suffer (anecdotal - in college some guys went drinking at k1. around midnight on way back they smashed someone's mercedes windscreen. guy went to parklands police station and came back with cops. by this time the culprits were back in their rooms and the police grabbed the next lot of students who were on their way from k1). going by the way that mabati door was kicked in it seems the guys were targeting all students irrespective of their guilt. and what's the difference between the students who destroyed property and the thugs smashing someone's door.? or the landlord was a striking student too?

If this had taken place at night...Pray
The residents are not disciplinarians, theirs is mob justice and revenge-can kill if left on their own.
