BUT, here we differ. Muhammad opposed the culture of the Arabs when it suited him and supported(and incorporated) it when it suited him.
The case of his adopted son Zayd is glaring. Arabic custom allowed adoption. Muhammad adopted Zayd in public at the ka'aba. This was in accordance with Arabic culture.
when he took Zayd's wife Zaynab, he got a new convenient revelation that adoption is not allowed by God. Thus, from henceforth, Zayd ceased being son of Muhammad! This 'revelation' disallowing adoption was contrary to culture. He had to misrepresent God to appear right before the Arabs and their culture
