I am saying anyone should be able to name their child 'God' if they wanted to... heck there a monitoring framework in Ruby known as 'God' found here (http://godrb.com/). The only negative thing that will result from naming your child 'God', 'Allah', 'Omwami', 'Wanyonyi', [place your deity name here] would come from zealous adherents to the religion that worships [place your deity name here] rather than the deity him/herself. This brings a second angle to this whole argument do people in arabic/islamic society fear God or fear zealous prefects who act as right hand men/women of God? some woman is facing flogging in Iran coz of a cheek kiss - why? because some people walikazwa!!!
