Because Muhammad was just a man... To us he was never and will never be God!

Naming your child Muhammad is like naming your child Moses or David!

However if Jesus is not a man but is God according to you guys how can you dare equate your child to God Almighty!?

One would only name their child Jesus if deep down they knew he wasn't God!

Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Use my name when naming yourselves..."

In Islam, when we choose a name for our children, we make sure it is just a name. It should be a name that will suit him living in his locals, or majuu (kwa kina Kiash), or when he/she is 5 years old, 15 or 50 years old. A name that is easy to say and pronounce and remember.

Because you can see wonders in people naming their children. For example "Boiy"!!!

So in Islam it is recommended to name a child after the name of prophet of God. You can name him Noah, or Ibrahim, or Musa, or Yusuf, or Daud, or Isa (Jesus), or Muhammed etc. You can name her Mariam, or Hawa etc

Don't call your child Hitler for example because it has bad meaning. Or Haram or Taabu or Kombo or Impunity etc

Because a name reflects on that person. When the person grows up, the person will ask what did Yusuf used to do, why and so on?

If a Kikuyu cannot name their child Ngai, and a Mswahili cannot name their child Mungu, and a Muslim cannot name their child Allah then why on earth would a Christian name their child Jesus who is God?? Sad
