Is it legal for Dyer and Blair to charge CDS maintenance fee even when CDS A/Cs are maintained by CDSC.

How will they get that money given an investor has invested in stock...will they liquidate those stocks to get their fee?

Oh I have to close my account with them...It is now too costly to have a CDS a/c with them if you are not a big time investor.

Are you sure that all of them charge it?
I asked Suntra and SBG about it and they dismissed that.

This move is typical of some Kenyan businesses.

A company suffers low earnings/declining business and instead of increasing the value proposition for customers, it increases the price.

Anyone in Dyer and Blair should be worried. This is a sign that their solvency/ liquidity is not well and they may not even afford to take the Investment Banking licence next time.

I would have expected them to target bigger corporate accounts, do IPOs/ SIPOs etc (stuff that IBs make money from). OR put in place cost saving measures by using ICT, closing brick & mortar branches, engaging staff on performance basis.

Thought this thing was discussed in March this year and it was an angreement by all brokers through their association.

I transacted at AA last month. I thoroughly scrutinized my statement and there was no such thing.

I called them again and they gave me the most bullcr... reason I've ever heard. That it's to encourage people to trade yet they are charging everyone whether trading or dormant. So I ask the lady where or how they'll get this money because it's illegal for them to touch my account or sell my shares without my consent and this is when she did the Kenyan thing of transferring the call to an unmanned extension.
Anyway I've decided to move not because of the charges but because their online trading is a rumour.

I have also called them, the lady on the phone doesnt know how people who dont trade regularly are supposed to be paying that 100/= monthly charge.

For instance, I only trade very rarely I might even trade once in three months....I dont maintain any cash with them I deposit exact amount for my trades most of the cases my balance is so little...so how will they deduct that monthly charge if I dont trade again.

Will the amount accumulate until I see debt collector on my door for a debt I did not sign for.

I trade with D&B at times but I dont like how they handle clients they hang up the phone, give misguided info. I have even seen its easier to win a lottery than to get a reply of an email from this guys.
