Flooded runway

How does this just suddenly happen? I know runways should be so minimally 'flooded' for the landing experience to be serious fun. I am wondering what would suddenly cause a runway that was very good to suddenly feel too flooded, making landing not a very nice experience.
Objectively and without disrespect to our beloved fish, and to the benefit of all who have experienced this, what would be the reasons behind this? - diet, overuse, too much excitement ....
I also have a helmet on

what exactly do you mean .... under the weather or cool stitution. Then again when does the captain realise flooding

There goes Mr Commando, the expert (has landed over 50 fish) who also knows nothing (asks weird questions).
