seller says he can exchange with another TV of similar range but better picture quality, eg a plasma since it is less than a week old.

40k? Are you sure it's a real Samsung smart TV and not a Chingchong Somsong?

I have seen some adverts on Olx for this 40' Led Tv has anyone bought one from these shops? Do they have original warranty from Samsung?

I'm afraid @omhangla bought a counterfeit Samsung. There are many which have flooded the market as well as Sony / LG TV's.

Taking a quick glance at olx.co.ke, I came across these LG samples being sold for 8'200.00, a very "good" price if I may say so. Unfortunately for the unsuspecting buyer, LG stopped manufacturing TV's under 20" in 2001. Most of the 32" - 42" are also counterfeits.

KEBS?

Could be issues to do with regional compatibility i.e PAL, NTSC, SECAM etc.

I would recommend Sony W series LED tvs to anyone who wants a beautiful TV. I have the 42 inch Bravia W674...it has an inbuilt DVBT2 digital tuner & its also a smart TV where you can watch some internet channels if you have good wifi.

there are different Digital Terrestrial Broadcast standards around the world, for instance:

>>DVB-T. Used mostly in Europe and most of Africa.

>>DVB-T2. An improvement of above and what Kenya has adopted.

>>ATSC. Used in N.America.

>>DTMB. Used in China & Hong Kong.

>>ISDB-T. Used in Japan and South America.

Chances are the tuner in your tv is incompatible with our standards here and you'll therefore have to go for a stand-alone STB. Your options include Yaojin, Crystal View, RockDale, etc. Check here for more details:
