Strange. At 2.57 pm it was 38 M Shares. When did the 90 million shares change hands ?????????? WOW! chasing for dividends ?????? With Liquidity and a DIV Yield of 4% this is one of the best investment options for very BIG MONEY

On the same NOTE,BIG VOLUME Bids for KCB at 47 and 47.50 at close of trade (Finally breaking the 47 resistance level). Share trades 3.35 M with 97.35% foreign participation at between 47 and 47.5. No supply points beyond 48. These foreigners are good traders.50 just a stone throw away. EABL..Strong bids coming at 265 and resistance at 280 now looking more likely to give way in the short term. Will Equity Bank follow suit? Britam is constricting but price still below the 20 day simple moving average# watching it Generally Market looks good BUT keep in mind that the FED FOMC next meets on April 29th July (After FED FOMC June 21 meeting ) might be the end of the party..Before then ACCELERATION RELOADED.

Mwekezaji..what were the foreign buy and sale. That must be a dark pool.Occured almost at close of trade. But i still consider > 35M shares on Safaricom as huge volumes. At 2.57 PM,we had 38M shares change hands. Big volume trades at record high prices always imply two meanings; 1.Either proffessional money know what the rest dont know therefore buying 2.Professional money selling

As @metaspoilt states, vol spike at resistance level means: - - crashing resistance to force trend continuation or - solid distribution (heavy selling). From the look of things as per today's price close the behaviour looks like a trend continuation and if so, the highs coming up will be interesting to watch. Also the vol spike shows up weeks before the results. Today's trade is a significant marker. Note the date for this vol is what churns in some month's not a single day...

Going forward the madness will be in: - (i) mining and infrastructure (ii) energy (iii) telcos and finance - mobile money merging magnet like ICT (iv) consumer goods But I see the mongolia in telco first then energy in the next 10yrs.
Quote:
ETHIOPIA has Africa’s last big telecoms monopoly. The absence of competition has seen a country of more than 80m lag badly behind the rest of the continent in an industry that has generally burgeoned alongside economic growth. Mobile-phone penetration, which averages 70% of the population elsewhere in Africa, is closer to 25% in Ethiopia. A paltry 2.5% of Ethiopians have access to the internet, compared with 40% in neighbouring Kenya.

Ethiopia is among the few still-untapped opportunities and a market MTN is keen to enter, the people said. The country, with a population of 89 million, had just 22 percent mobile-phone penetration in 2012, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That compares with 131 percent in South Africa and 71 percent in Kenya.
