Equity has its sights on the Safaricom-CBA partnership with Mshwari making CBA a real threat to Equity bank's market niche. But don't put it past Equity to jump in full throttle and even target safaricom's pay tv plans by developing similar business lines. Its however always risky when a company greatly diverges from its core competencies as it may loose focus of its corporate objectives.

Time will tell.

Happy hunting.

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Critics should keep off, diversification is always good if you have the capital and can get good competent managers and staff

The company that built the tallest building in the world happens to be the number one smartphone maker, number one chip maker, number one SHIP builder, number one Tv maker etc etc.

Samsung has done.

Equity can do it and i would encourage them to go for it.

The subsidiaries need financing. Competition for resources may mean capital will be diverted from its core business of banking. Funds for lending to customers will start competing with funds for 4G roll out.

Anyway, Dr James Mwangi is a smart fellow. He must know what hes doing.

Happy hunting.

equity is going the right way. Mobile financial services is right up it's ally.
safaricom is highly diversified into financial services as well. would we say safcom is loosing focus by going financial? no.

these two companies. safcom and equity people have underestimated them in the past, they always pull through

Cheques were dated 26.04.2012 and released last week. Should be in your P.O.Box/bank account, depending on the instructions you gave out when opening your CDSC account, by now.

In my very honest opinion.. that is going to be a game changer for the company and the share value.
Has it been discussed on Wazua before? factored into the share value?
LTE is going to mint money for Safaricom
