So Bwana Mukiri, you don't have a car? Cause you can only chastise others when you are not guilty of the 'sin' yourself, otherwise its a perfect case of hypocrisy ..nyani haoni kundule ....
About bicycles in other countries,...yes, there are cultures that are highly evolved (but also have very reliable public transit systems - making personal cars unnecessary). In yet other countries, car ownership comes with very high taxes (Hong Kong for instance). In the UK (London), they have congestion charges, which are high enough to discourage people driving into cities.
In conclusion, do not oversimplify - different places, different circumstances.

If you don't like how the Mark X looks like and want the same performance look for the Toyota Royal Crown, (or hiyo Lexus IS 250). They share some engines.

the colonial social strata mentality is hard to eradicate ..it seems some people still think cars are a means of wealth expression..i believe it's becoming a hobbyist/practical endeavor that cuts across the divide..komarock or Muthaiga ..its time you reckon that..you have not met the "oil men of Kiambu" with their pick-ups

Who was it who said if you give one million shillings to a rich guy, a middle class guy and a poor man they'll spend it differently? A rich guy might find ways to triple it, a middle class will probably think of a better car, better furniture, phone etc and the poor man will drink and party his fortune away..

Shida ni availability of loans.Easier to get a loan nowadays. And the middle class (esp. younger ones) see no problem with taking a loan to buy the 3000cc machine. You can now stunt at Galileos & Masaku7s!Applause Applause

And get lots of landing out of it (owning the car i.e) I once posted here about some lovely ka yellow yellow who never gave me a 2nd date coz she expected I would be driving a CLK or something....smh dropped her in a ratchet car and that was the end of it...

I admire this car, hence my username here :) :)
pole, women should be taught how to love the guy not his ride, could be the dad/friend's car. I have heard stories of guys who back in the day would borrow to impress, then return everything after the wedding to the rightful owners...
