Good morning Wazua-

I need some help reading the measurements found on a building plan drawing. For example the above apartment is for 110m2.

- Are the figures quoted in feet or inches?
- Is the 110m2 the "livable space", excluding the lobby + Balcony?
- Is the width of the wall excluded in the calculations?

Appreciate any assistance. Please note the plans/house is not mine and I'm merely using for illustration.

Asante

Length measurements are in millimeters. You can convert them into meters by dividing by 1000.

The dimensions are in millimeters
The area generally refers to the plinth area i.e the surface area of the floor
and that would include that on which the walls stand.
You can get the actual area of any room by multiplying the dimensions of the room.
NB Convert the dimensions to mm by dividing the stated dimensions by 1000
All the best

I appreciate the clarification on the surface area. Makes more sense now as I was only arriving at 203sm based on the quoted figures excluding the wall dimensions.
