ORAIT. Now the focus is on Jesus Christ? Old Testament's praises and Worship, umetupa nje? ISOKEI, we can play that game. Jesus Christ sang unto God(Praise and Worship) in the following verses
1. Matthew 26:30, Mark 14:26
2. Hebrews 2:12
3. Romans 15:9

And for your info, a Christian doesn't need to go to Church to Praise and Worship. The Bible tells us to pray ALL the time, to meditate on the Word of God. Everywhere, anywhere, anytime, everytime is Praise and Worship time

So, why did you convert from being a Christian into being a Muslim? And as a Christian were you this passionate?

But I've always wondered, is the passion about fulfilling a spiritual void or a cover-up for a greater need? eg It's easy to spot new money... bling, flashy cars clothes etc and alot of noise-making, but old money is almost nondescript. Is all the hullabaloo a way of asking for acceptance? Going the extra mile for favors/recognition? (I know Wazua, from its owners, is more Islamic than anything else) A form of low self esteem?

@MatataMingi why did I convert from Christianity to Islam?

There were a number of things that started disturbing my conscience:
- God says "I'm ONE GOD worship no other" in commandment no.1, but the church teaches three gods
- Jesus (a.s) stressed that "Hear O Israel the Lord our God is ONE", but the church teaches that Jesus himself is God.
- Jesus (a.s) fell on his face and prayed to God. Like Muslims do

- When Jesus (a.s) prayed, was he praying to himself? Of course not.
- Jesus (a.s) says love your God with all your heart, mind and body. How come again the church compose songs such as "unastahili kuabudiwa, unastahili ee Yesu". Did he ask anyone to worship him? No of course
- Jesus (a.s.) says if you want to go to heaven, follow the law. He didn't say wait for me to die on the cross.
- God says in the second commandment "don't make mould, carve, draw images of anything in heaven, air, in water or earth", but in the church you find all sorts of images and idols
- etc

All these made me feel sick in the heart every time I went to church. When I researched other religions, I read about Islam, and I was amazed at purity of faith. There is one amazing verse, where God describes His attributes:

Chapter 112:1-4
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful .
1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4. And there is none like unto Him.

This is the purity of faith. If you compare this to a God who walks on Earth, with footsteps heard like that of another fellow man walking, you wonder how can God walk on surface of this tiny earth!!!

Our earth is not even visible in the Galaxy, can you imagine God walking on some path on earth!!!

@MatataMingi I agree with you. Actually Islam is society of truthfulness, honesty, justice, sincerity, uprightness, no slandering (even provoked like @mawinder does), no rudeness, righteousness. In fact the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) gave his last powerful sermon where he said: no superiority over people, race, colour, tribe etc. He said the best of you is the best in conduct. Read it here

We are taught to be moderate in everything. We don't attack prophets and messengers of God, we don't worship them, but we took their message and believed in the message.

Islam teaches about responsibility. Father over a home, mother over children etc

It teaches morality. You see nowadays the society take the wrong as right, and the right as wrong. what was abomination 50 years ago is now right. Maybe in the next 50 years, it will become right again. But in Islam our guidance is from Allah.

In Islam there is no tribe, racism, we are all brother. Even is a King or ambassador or president comes to the mosque, he will line up shoulder to shoulder with a hawker.

We uphold prayer, 5 times a day we remind ourselves about our creator. And this is the best form of worship!
