I recognise the fact that Uhuru has sent some guys from our army to sort these guys out. But in his position as EA chair, he should go beyond issuing a statement and showing more leadership. He rallied Africa against ICC, he should be busier rallying the world against this genocide. He should come out strongly and show leadership. He should call UN, EU, AU and let the whole world look at these guys. But he shud start by making it clear to those SS leaders can't afford to propagate war in their country n have them n their families live in Nairobi.

@Washiku, the 300+ KDF is part of the UN Mission to South Sudan ( UNMISS)to be based at the Kenyan Camp in Wau, WbEG state, which is part of the civilian protection mandate. The current genocide is still ongoing and only Museveni has sent active combatants who are fighting alongside the SPLA-Government forces. Literally, UPDF is the one keeping Salva Kiir in power.

BTW approx 70% of the national army has defected and the government side is outnumbered in terms of ground troops but has the advantage on weaponry. The opposition also has the advantage of terrain esp this time round due to the rains making government forces unable to move.

If AU/IGAD do not send ground troops VERY soon, the levels of massacre soon to be witnessed will forever be a scar on the collective conscience of humankind.

Ooh my. Thanks for the info. The more reason this man UK shud move beyond issuing a statement.

Hatujarogwa. Most of these African conflicts are caused by nations outside Africa

That is escapist thinking. Kwani you can't think for yourself and stop the machinations? This is typical of Africans; laying blame on unseen forces that "make them" kill destroy and steal.

Stop this kind of thinking. It is worthless. If African leaders cared so much about Africans, the way the Europeans care about themselves, we'd be further ahead.

Very simplistic reasoning. And annoying! Shame on you d'oh!

I also noticed they didn't shake hands. My gut feel says it won't hold. Machar being power hungry will try a "Museveni on Tito Okello".

On the brighter side, when the sudanese are done genociding each other, they will sign the railway deal with us and not with the Ethiopians.

Seriously, I hope the Ethiopian Premier did not say he would arest a sovereign president. Thats in bad taste.

If it takes the arrest of the 2 to save 1000's of lives, it would not be in bad taste. Look at how the the ICC humbled some people in Kenya and led to the greatest bromance south of the sahara

To Machar/Kiir, the 1000's dying are just collateral damage in their quest for power.
