@jaribu...I'm not sure you have made yourself clear - do you want a particular diagnostic tool or a tool kit (i.e. all spanners and bits that can help fix a car - torque wrench,ring squeezer,pliers,box and open spanners,etc). The diagnostic tool - strobe light for timing,electrical diagnosis,what? Expound and you will have more replies than views...

keyword is DIAGNOSTIC: it can be called a kit or tool that checks for faults in vehicles and also reads various codes. Something like this below here connected to a computer and a printout of the readings is obtained. thanks,hope am clearer now.

ok. I see.... I am more inclined for old and manual kind of cars that need the good old way of figuring out (except of course for the timing light).

@Jaribu

If and when you get the diagnostic tool,please remember to sort out Tasha's vibrating Toyota 110.

@jaribu,my friend,try 0722853398,Peninah,met her at a car yard some time back and was trying to publicise some diagnostic tool she had. Never got to communicate with her but just try out.

I don't know. Therefore I ask.

Do you want a professional kit? These run from about 150k to over 800k Use SNAP-ON Modis or genisys but if its for personal use you can get those handheld code readers that the nakumatt motor botique used to sell a while back . The portable ones cost between 15k and 30k( Carmd,Equus EP 13120,snap-on YA3020).The model/make is not really a problem because they all use the OBDII protocol to communicate. Also check into some of the PC laptop based software and cable kits. If you already have the laptop,the kits run from about 70k and the updates are frequently cheaper and down-loadable from the 'net
. p.s i have no idea where they are sold but some bright muhindi in grogon must be selling these tools.

I have an as-good-as new Equus Innova 3140. It scans all OBD II cars and selected OBD I cars including the Kenyan identity vehicle, Toyota AE110.

However, it does not scan ABS, SRS airbags and transmission problems. For these, the LAUNCH X431 is the big boy.

Asking price 40K. I do not deal in the tools hence have no business premises but certainly do not meet people in the bush. If interested, please contact me on reithim@yahoo.com.

I've no idea where to get OBD I/II scanners locally though someone once mentioned to me that there's some place in industrial area.

Planning on getting a cheap, simple, functionally OBD-II scanner just to get the codes myself.
