Wowee... some nice profits as tea prices have been on the rise this year.

Last trade was at 95/- but EPS for 1H 2009-10 (30 Sep 2009) was 25/-

If I were to extrapolate (not necessarily the best way to do it) for the full year I get around 40/- (including biological gains).

Am I dreaming or is this a PE of 2.5?

* Don't forget that some of the tea farms (stolen/excised from Mau) will be removed/re-possessed in 2010 thus Kenya's tea production may not rise as much even with the rains.

These companies trade at incredibly low PEs not to mention that (especially) in the case of WTK the PBV is only O.3 with the last revaluation of assets having been done in 2007. This is one stock that I never regret ever having been bought and my only concern is that I have never had enough money to buy as much as I ought to.

I will not be suprised by the company trying to take out minorities in the near future. At least that's the vibe I got when I attended their AGM this year.

Brooke Bond (Unilever) did that. Minorities were bought out. I need to buy WTK. I wonder how the price will react today but the news is not in the newspapers. I happened to check the NSE website.

25/- for 6 months & tea prices have RISEN since 30 Sep 2009 so that means the Tea Revenue could be even higher than 1H for the 2H.

Tena... it has RAINED so more tea to sell. Of course, that could also mean a drop in prices.

most of the tea companies are good for know because of the international prices.

Production in sri lanka and India could increase with the better rains, hence affect world tea prices going forward.

Kapchorua didn't react today despite an almost 240% rise in EPS.I expect upward movement in coming days and tomorrow i load more of Sasini,if it keeps the trend in the full year expected next month, investors could harvest big.
