No one can answer my question above? You see I have asked many men of Christianity "what was that sign" and I'm telling you no Christian can tell you what was that sign You see it is very easy, you have to go to the book of Jonah (a.s). The book of Jonah in the Bible is only one page. But you don't have to go there, if you went to Sunday school. The little children, they know the story of Jonah (a.s) and the whale. Everybody knows. The Jewish child knows, the Christian child knows, the Muslim child knows. In the book of Jonah (a.s) we read that God Almighty sends Jonah to the Ninevites in the city called Nineva. So God commands Jonah to go to Nineva and warn the people there to repent and humble themselves before the Lord. Jonah (a.s) instead of going to Nineva he is sad and says these materialistic people, the evil and adulterous generation of his time, will not listen to me, they will mock me. So instead of going to Nineva, he goes to Jaba (modern Jaffa in Israel). And he takes a boat and he is running away. In the sea, there was a storm and the people found that Jonah was guilty and so they took him and they threw him overboard and the storm subsided. NB: this might have been a coincidence, but the storm subsided. God sent a big fish, who swallowed Jonah whole. I'm asking the question, when they threw Jonah (a.s) into the sea, was he dead or was he alive?

When Jonah (a.s) was thrown into the sea, was he dead or was he alive?

You can spot the difference, right? Please utilize your Reading and Comprehension skills you were taught in school and were examined on in KCPE and KCSE. You did these exams, right? Unless ulivuka border. Hiyo point and link ya Kysse pia should remove the wheels off your misguided juggernaut and put it on stones permanently. I had earlier asked you if these snippets of text you are quoting are part of a whole (hence to be taken together) or are just random bits and pieces to be strung together as one sees (mis)fit. You obviously take them as random bits and pieces of information to be strung together as you see (mis)fit. I am not stopping you, go right ahead, sir. Knock yourself out. ************** Dunking in the water represents baptism, the memorial of Jesus's burial and resurrection. 3 days. Resurrection. Jonah was dunked and Jesus was buried. Baptism. Resurrection.

Jesus used the phrase “sign of Jonah” as a typological metaphor for His future crucifixion and resurrection, when asked by the Pharisees for miraculous proof the He was indeed the Messiah. The Pharisees were questioning Jesus' claims about Himself, despite His having just cured a demon-possessed man who was both blind and mute. They accused Jesus of driving out demons by the power of Satan, they asked Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here” (Matthew 12:38-41). Jesus’s resurrection was to be the greatest miracle/Sign of all. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

You can spot the difference, right? @muriel what is the difference? And about the other discussion we had together, I answered all your questions, including the ones you ask me "yes/no". I answered with a straight yes or no. Could you be kind and answer the two questions in my post #13?

@ja-kom so what was the sign of Jonah (a.s)? Remember in Bible terms, sign = miracle (a surprising event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency).

Let me give you a benefit of doubt, perhaps its my fault I did not see, so kindly show me where, I will appreciate.Dismiss. What does Ja-kom's last sentence read? Reading and Comprehension. Read. Comprehend. for as ,,,, so shall. This is Typology. Symbology. (Like my brothers, Tycho & Symbols, hola, hola!). Metaphor. You have taken readers through the book of Jonah and doubtless you noticed these terminologies as you read and hopefully comprehended chapter 2 and they rang a bell somewhere, no?: (1) Jonah's 'things wrapped around his head'. Jesus's crown around his head. Thorns. (2) Jesus's 'heart of the earth'. Jonah's 'earth with her bars'. (3) Jonah would sacrifice. Jesus's sacrifice. Lamb. (4) Jonah was agonizing. Jesus agonizing. Gathesmane. (5) And so on and so on. Read. Comprehend. Read then use whatever language, words, expressions, pictures to comprehend. After comprehending, then you should attempt to answer the questions. But since you take these texts as random bits and pieces of information, instead of as a whole, you will go on as you have. Please proceed. Like I said I am not here to stop you from doing whatever you want to do. Knock yourself out! Sir.

...After comprehending, then you should attempt to answer the questions. @muriel which questions do you want me answered? I already asked but you have not answered. I went back to the your (a) and (b) questions in another thread and I answered both of them. If it were not satisfactory, you'd have said then. Now back to Jonah (a.s). You're calling Jesus (a.s) words metaphor. That he didn't really mean what he said literally. @muriel this is really funny. I'm asking you, you speak English, you said what Jesus (a.s) said " my miracle will be like Jonah" does not really mean that? What does it mean, the above list? (1). the miracle is the "crown" will be like that of Jonah (2). the miracle is Jesus and Jonah's "hearts" (3). the miracle is being sacrificial? (4). the miracle is agonizing in Mt. Gathesmane like Jonah? (5). and so on and on? I want to know what language are you talking. Miracle is being crown with thorns on head? Miracle is being a sacrificial lamb? Is that English? Please @muriel, let us not abuse a language. Let us not talk gibberish!
