I find his colums on the Sunday Nation very negative and ever critical of all things Kenyan. Going through his website,http://www.sunwords.com/,I would say 50-60 % of his articles contain some kind of criticism against Kenya. It's alright to point out the flaws we have in our country ( which I agree are numerous) but endless moaning helps no one. I wish he would just stop whining and offer concrete solutions . Does anyone share my point of view?

Absolutely! You mirror my sentiments. BTW,I stopped reading his articles. Reminds one of a quarrelsome and nagging wife.

@flywhisk -Then go read what alfred mutua tells you! There is a saying that what your mother does not teach you... the world will...
*** BTW,a lot of what he writes is not original but rehashed.
****And what real solution can you offer in 1/2 a page (probably the space he has been allocated).

Re-hashed or rehearsed? I like the posts. You've to criticize positively to make progress in anything. He is only a messenger.

@Vituvingisana,I support you wholeheartedly on this matter. We are really messing up the opportunities we have and when somebody puts this in black and white,we go for them hammer and tong.

' ......................very negative and ever critical................................criticism against Kenya.................endless moaning................whining............... 'I for once just thought flywhisk in using the above words is describing one side of our coalition government! It is not fair to Sunny Bindra because his articles are not all that- they are actually quite incisive without being offensive.

Read his take on Nation Media's AGM... I was at the AGM & it was as he said... dance, food & gifts took 2 of 3 hours... The actual AGM was concluded asap...

Even after a sit-down lunch... some shareholders complained about the time (held/started at 3PM)... wanted bus fare... pissed that gifts were given at the end of the AGM...

bindra criticised the AGM even though his bosses were the guys on the high table...

I've never thought of his article as being negative because I tend to agree with almost everything he writes. If he can find something negative every week to write about then we are really not in good shape. I can only commend his.

Good People,

Has anyone read his book ' Crown your customer'? Then you would tell where he is coming from. And I agree with his sentiments in the book that customer service in Kenya is actually pathetic right from the government to the private sector. We tend to see a customer as a bother yet he pays us. The worst thing is that we Kenyans, more often than not, agree to be humiliated while we pay for it! look at Safaricom,Immigrations even KQ ( we should clap when they succed 84% of the times). When I remember Telkom or Kenya Posts and Telecommunications KPTC for akina Njung'e,I am thrilled it collapsed and feel nothing for the goons because one had to BEG for a line. I see Safaricom headed that way very soon all because MJ has chosen not to internalise Sunny Bindra's book.

Sundays Article.....

'People,no one gets any prizes for trying. You get rewards for trying and winning. And I am fed up to the gills with our acceptance of mediocrity. Kenya played this game without its German coach,Antoine Hey,who had absconded in a fit of pique. The Prime Minister, who had been instrumental in forcing through the appointment of this laughably unqualified coach, sat in the stadium cheering 'our boys'.

The high priests of football in Kenya must also have watched Kenya fail to qualify even for a continental tournament, let alone a global one. Having presided over an administration that would make circus clowns look organised, did they feel any shame? I doubt it very much. It’s just another failure, another blot in our copybook. We laugh it off and we move on.'.........................

Yet here we sit, unable to organise a national football team let alone a national strategy. Take a hard look at Harambee Stars,Kenyans: they are a metaphor for the nation. Their reference point is the past, not the future. They are administered by thugs and comedians, and coached by third-stringers and mercenaries. They are in a continuous state of argument about stolen money and political positions. Their best players have long lost faith in them, and make their living overseas. Their natural talent is stifled by the nonentities who lead them.

***********************

On Sunday's article I thought it reflects the general mood after end of world cup qualifiers. There was no outrage on the manner Harambee Stars went from quite good in the previous rounds to mediocre in less than 1 year.

Whats negative with the article? Its says as it is.
