Dr Joshi at Sarit Centre is the best(and maybe only?) professional you'll get as far as laser eye is concerned in Kenya. I havent even heard of anywhere else you can get this surgery in Kenya. I think his clinic on 2nd floor,Sarit Centre, but you can reach them on 44494878 for further queries or to book an apointment if you want to know more about the surgery and how much it'll cost. If you have your prescription with you,it'd be better as they'll be able to give you a rough estimate. Also it'd help to know if your eyes are naturally dry,allergic..etc
I called them last year, wanted to try out the surgery, and they told me the cost ranges from 75k per eye,but this largely depends on your eye index, the lower it is,just like in the case of glasses, the higher the cost. People whos' visions isnt much impaired can do it comfortably at 150k but there are those who do it for 200k upwards. Also,if your poor vision is as a result of an accident, enviromental issues..etc,it's not highly recommended to try out laser surgery,It works best if your vision is naturally impaired or genetic(just like in the case of contact lenses). If you're prone to eye allergies etc..surgery is also not advisable.
Sucess rate is not 100% guaranteed(though people rarely go blind from laser surgery),so it's good not to place all your hopes of attaining eagle vision after the surgery. Most people have to redo the surgery after about 5yrs or so,as the effects tend to wear out and patients find themselves needing eye aids/glasses after about 5yrs. Personally,I'd rather be stuck with glasses or contact lenses forever than take the risk of laser surgery. But then again, that's just me! If it was 100% effective,I'd definitely do it!
