After a long spell of being a 'peeping tom',I have now crossed the line to active membership.

I encourage all skerians to report any crime on this thread .Lets play our part .Lets help security enforcers serve us better by volunteering information to them.

Here are some scenes I feel compelled to report:

Since the coop bank opened a branch in Kangemi on 8th .10.2009,residents there have not seen peace.On Friday 16.10.2009 thugs armed to teeth attacked a chemist at about 8 pm.,on the same street about 7 houses from the new branch towards mountain view estate.

On 19.10.09 at about 9 pm armed thugs attempted to car jack a motorist afew metres from the first scene but were sighted by another motorist who decided to make a daring chase towards the carjacked vehicle.The brave motorist hit the carjacked vehicle and sped off attracting the attention of passersby.This time the thugs had to shoot in the air after people started stoning them and ran on foot.

The area has become just so insecure after the opening of the branch.Over to you SK NSIS.

Still can't see the connection between the openning of the coop bank branch and the attacks in Kangemi.Or am i alone on this one?

There seems to be a correlation between the crime and the new bank branch.These incidents were unheardoff before the branch opened.It may be that the thugs are practising for 'something big'.The chemist that was attacked had nothing much to write about .No gunshot was made though they were armed to teeth.But you see now they are getting bolder and attempting to hijack vehicle and even shoot.The guys are becoming bolder and it may be just a matter of time and you hear that 'something big'.

Gunshots have just become too frequent in the area in the post opening period.

It would just be prudent to beef up security in that area before its too late.

No Nothing against Coop.I'm actually a beneficiary of the coop bank which supports coop movement.I'm Just reporting what I overheard people saying(heresay) may be the cause of rising crime in the area.They may be right,they may be wrong.I have not said that the bank did anything wrong by opening a branch there.It was actually a very strategic Idea for the residents and the shareholders.The job is now for security enforcers to ensure that the residents are secure.

Between Now and Dec there shall be a general rise in all manners of crime. Dont think it has anythin to do with coop bank...... It would be fairer to alert guyz of areas with incidents instead of shouting wolf!!!! While at it be alert of 2 or more chaps operating between Tulaga Stage and Kirinyaga road.... they specialize at hitting at women handbags. Their accomplice was shot last friday. Kudos to the APs patrolling the streets

@Grateful are you serious that these incidents could be related?it sounds like a joke why should thugs rob a chemist to practice for a bank robbery.
