Peter wanted to buy a shirt. He borrowed 50 shillings from John and another 50 from James. He bought the shirt for 97 shillings and got a change of 3 shillings. He decided to pay back 1 shilling to John and another to James thereby remaining with a shilling. By so doing, he now owes both John and James 49 shillings each.

If Peter is to repay the remaining debt, it will be 49 shillings (John) + 49 shillings (James) = 98 shillings adding the 1 shilling Peter had remained with will make a total of 99 shillings. Where does the 1 shilling go?

if the shirt is costing 97/= and the amount to be borrowed is split equally, then both John and James are giving 48.5/= each (97/2). that leaves a balance of three shillings which Peter has. Rather than giing 48.5/=, they gave each 50/=/ 50 - 48.5= 1.5/=. 1.5/= x 2 = 3/= which is the change Peter has. No shilling is lost or missing.

10 thieves were caught red handed and arrested. they were placed in front of a firing squad, and shot at point blank range (with real bullet), yet no single men was killed. how is this possible?!

There is no other shilling

Simple. 97+1+1+1=100

Can see that you only pass if forced to repeat.Applause

more.

1. A woman shoots her husband.
Then she holds him under water for over 5
minutes.
Finally, she hangs him.
But 5 minutes later they both go out together
and enjoy a wonderful dinner together.
How can this be?

2. At the beach. A bell rings, a woman dies.
What happened?
