@ Obiero don't you see it go higher than that by end yr or you're leaving it for "better faster" ROI elsewhere

@boris it may go higher but i am comfortable with my exit point. actually, im headed out of financials in kenya because of the imminent fall in interest rates that may lead to reduced profitability if non interest income is not well managed/grown
When interest rates decrease, many banks will decrease the interest rates paid to depositors as well thus maintaining the NIM as well as increasing the loan volumes. All that said, banks need to reduce their Cost-Income Ratio further by reducing the expensive channels. It will not be easy for banks in 2014.

KCB has underutilised strength and unlockin that has proved futile across change in management.. Meanwhile, banks with much lower asset base are angling for a kill! The lion is a CORPORATE bank that needed a connected captain, unfortunately the current one has shown no signs of being a master of these turbulent waters. There is a shift in the market where Coop will emerge second after Equity in next three years

Do you have evidence to back it up or is it a hunch?

The writing is on the wall

Fact: Coop Bank will never overtake KCB in terms of profitability in the next 3yrs...@obiero take that to the bank or your nearest hospital...cos it aint happening...if you think it will...then buy some antiacids...

Coop already at number 3. Musical chairs, watch this space. Well maybe 3 yrs is on the shorter side as @deal said, but who else has analysed the NII, asset book, customer numbers.. The writing is on the wall.. www.businessdailyafrica....52/-/qne942/-/index.html

You and your dates! Sad

I think its time to refurbish that crystal ball of yours..

Hehe. Makosa imefanyika.. Who doesnt know what I meant?

I got know clue what you mean.. *puts on puppy eyes*

Some of us have been in this thing for serious moneymaking fun.... and grow/hide loot

So our LOOT may have been hidden at COOP??Is it loot like lost taxpayers money??Or looted CDF cash?

Ali Baba, knowing the clout Wazua carries on matters stock market, let me correct myself and say. Ile tupesa nimekusanya kusanya as i do business is the loot.. business is partly looting. buy goods from A bring to pnt B add a markup and sell.

me and my crystal ball said KES 21 will be broken before 20th feb 2014.. Are there seriously any doubters in wazua about my insider actions???

Purchased a good amount of CO-OP today at 20.00
Seems 20 is the floor and once the supply at 21 is done,it will be up all the way (Watching same effect on CIC )

Put a bid of kenya re at 18.20 but only 3000 executed.

Watching HAFR

CO-OP
Asks

258,000 splits (19) price (21)

Splits is the main interest

CIC

Asks

336,000 splits (12) price (8)

If and when 21 and 8 will be taken ,it will be a clear highway for the two

Splits marks possible supply points.

Few splits beyond 21 and 8 for the two counters

8.90 prints on CIC and the road remains clear for 9.20.

21 still remains a difficult battle for co-op just as 8 was for CIC

Indeed CIC printed a high of 9...

Coop sits on resistance, but the pressure points up though not as charged as CIC.

CIC is JUST TOO BULLISH..

Now even 9.50 is not a battle # i dont know where share is going

Clearly co-op wont be as charged as CIC

1 for every 6 was a welcome note. But 21 remains elusive partly due to non-immediate excitement due to the the Long duration from date of material announcement and the actualization of the Action. Partly believe there should b law on how long crediting of bonuses/splits should be done n be as short as possible .my personal thoughts
But gain the status quo is what favours the big boys with extra loaded pockets .
