PROSTRATION AND PURIFICATION: THE BIBLE'S ONLY ANSWER TO PRAYER

Genesis 17:3 "Abram bowed to the ground and God said this to him......"

Exodus 30:17-21 "God said to Moses,..... "Before they enter the Tent of Meeting they MUST wash their hands and feet for fear of Hell"

Exodus 40:32-33 Whenever they entered the Tent of Meeting or approached the altar, they washed their hands and feet as God directed Moses.

Joshua 7:6 Joshua tore his garments and prostrated himself before the ark of God until nightfall

2Samuel 12:20 David got up from the ground purified himself and put on fresh clothes. Then he went to God's sanctuary and prostrated himself

2Chronicles 7:6 All the sons of Israel......bowed down to the pavement with their faces to the earth

Nehemiah 8:6-7 Then Ezra blessed God...... then they bowed down and face to the ground prostrated themselves before God.

Numbers 20:6-7 Leaving the assembly Moses and Aaron went to the Tent of Meeting. They threw themselves face downwards on the ground and the Glory of God appeared.

1Kings 18:42 Elijah climbed the top of Carmel and bowed down to the earth putting his face between his knees.

1Samuel 20:41 David rose from beside the hillock and fell face to the ground and bowed three times.

Judges 13:20-21 As the flame went up the angel of God ascended with it and Manoah and his wife fell face downwards on the ground

Ezekiel 9:8
While they were hacking them down, I stayed behind, I fell face downwards and exclaimed,.....

Matthew 17:6 When they heard this, the disciples fell on their faces, overcome with fear.

Matthew 26:39 And Jesus going on a little further fell on his face and prayed.

Revelations 7:11 And all the angels who were standing in a circle round the throne prostrated themselves before it and touched the ground with their foreheads worshipping God.....

This is very interesting, especially the part about the way Jesus prayed. I'll ask a few Pastors about it.

GOD'S WARNING TO ALL(PRESENT AND FUTURE)
1. Surely, We sent Noah to his people saying: "Warn others before a painful torment comes to them."
The Holy Qur'an: Chapter 71 (Noah)

In a bid to try and understand your Holy book, please allow me to ask, is all/most of what is in the Bible's Old testament also in the Qu'ran?

@mukiri, I hope you can read my post. You should.

You see, prophets were sent with books by God.
Old testament is a collection of books, which mentions prophets before Jesus (peace be upon him).

And these prophets of God are many, they were wise and religious men. God chose them for us, and we should not worship prophets (we don't in Islam). They were given Books from God, to show us the right way.

So to answer your question, in Islam, we believe in all the Books of God. And we believe in all prophets of God, Noah, Lot, Abraham, Ishmael, Issac, Jacob, Aron & Moses, David, Solomon, Jonah, Zakarias, John, Jesus, and Muhammad peace be upon them all.

The Books of God are:
1. Taurat given to prophet Musa
2. Zabur given to prophet Dawud
3. Injil given to prophet Isa (Essau or Jesus as ws translated later)
4. Quran given to prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

So for Torah for example is the book given to prophet Moses, which was later split into the 5 books of Moses (the Jews says "The Torah", Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number and Deuteronomy).

Then came Jesus (pbuh) and his message from God. God gave him His word, which is called Injil. But you know this injil was never recorded, it was never written because the Jews never believed in Jesus (pbuh). They called him an imposter Sad Liar Pray

So later on after Jesus (pbuh) ascended to heaven, some writers came and tried to accont for the life of Jesus. The collection of these books by these authors is now called New Testament.
And you know who the author are.
- Injil (gospel) according to Matthew,
- Injil (gospel) according to Mark,
- Injil (gospel) according to Luke,
- Injil (gospel) according to John

What we should be seeing is Gospel according to Jesus (peace be upon him). We should be seeing the Injil which was given to Jesus (peace be upon him).

So the Quran mentions the stories of all the prophets of God, most of those found in the bible.

Is this supposed to be a monologue thread? What use is it if you only read your own posts and hide for other people. Stop being a coward and read my post #52 and engage. Rhetorical only is truly standing on sand and when the rains come, you'll be swept down my friend.

Boss, let me give you abit of (my) wisdom. RAPE can be defined as forcing yourself onto someone.

We have collided severally in the past, I have told you I have no faith in your mohamed good guy, and his dreams documented in your qu'ran, I have also told you that I find your posts long and boring. Let me add this, I find you to be (abit) foolish.

Please have some self-respect and stop raping me. Forget I exist; I did that you a long time ago. If I'm headed for doom, will be swept away, won't go to heaven etc then let it be between my God and I. Do you and for God's sake, let me do me... IN PEACEPray

I came across David Dawson, not so long ago. This man teaches about the Bible in a simple and amazing manner. Fatherly. I've learned things from his videos that I never thought of.

He does it book by book.

Today I was looking at his Matthew

Will tell you once I do so... Do Muslims ever pray in any other manner? I know Jesus Christ prayed in different ways.

To try and be brief, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all descended from Abraham and therefore the history in the Old Testament is more or less the same in the three religions..

God's word was revealed in Hebrew (Old Testament), Aramaic (Gospel) and Arabic (Qur'an) and one will realize these are the only three main Syriac languages.

As I have previously stated, the perception of Jesus is what caused the rift in the three religions..

1. Jews view Jesus as a fraud/conman.

2. Christians view Jesus as God the Almighty.

3. Muslims view Jesus as the Messiah anointed with the Holy Spirit.
