Att:To All Meat Lovers.

Reports reaching us say that the goats of Koriema in Baringo County produce the tastiest meat in the country.

The koriemas eat 'sand' said to contain natural salts which tenderises smile the meat. You don't require table salt. They also graze in the wild.

So those used eating goats that feed on newspapers, nylon, sweaters, sponge, soda and require 5 days to tenderise in acid now know where to buy.

Who's tasted them?

Koriema village is on the way to Kabarnet after Kimalel Goat Auction site if you remember that one. You take the Nakuru road through Kabarak and continue. Anyhow, the goats that I consumed in the lower Baringo region - Marigat, Alabal, Chebenyinyi, Sadai, Kimosi, Kampi ya samaki, Kiserian, Ol Dume,Liboi, Kapkuikui,Rungus
and of course Koriema had outstandingly tender salty flesh. These animals subsist on acacia, mathenge (prosopis julisflora) and red wild oats (themeda triadra). No polythene bags and polluted waters here. However, the place can be quite hot and this could compromise your capacity to tuck in as much as you could in cooler environments.
Enjoy

I took a siesta this afternoon and found myself right in the middle of Koriema bargaining for a goat.
And true I licked my hands just like the mzee said on tv.
How much does a goat here cost?

I havent tasted the Koriema goat but all I know is that there is no tastier roasted goat meat than that found in Merille( a town between isiolo and marsabit). You do not even use salt coz the meat is naturally salted

If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

The folks at Nerkwo in South B used to get their meat from Koriema and it was very tasty. I don't know whether that changed

I have the privilege of having taken both Ishiara and Koriema goat meats. They are both very sumptuous but if you were to rank them, Koriema's any day.

Anyone else selling this koriama meat or live goats in the city? What I know is that the soils of marigat area of baringo are saline (have alot of salt) and therefore vegetation growing there would have higher amounts of salt that would end up in the goats.
