let me ask! how do you get job offers that you did not apply for? I remember a story of a CU guy in college who said that EABL sent him job offers and he refused! the devil was tempting him! I asked myself - how did EABL know that the chap existed?

Some organisations when looking out to employ fresh graduates go to Universities and speak to the administration to get them the top students in a particular field. That way you are offerred jobs you did not apply for.

Its not a waste of brains, USA is where it is today because of some chaps who refused to be employed and instead decided to be innovators, entrepreneurs and employers.Do you know that there won't be any innovation if everybody was in formal employment?

3.What would have happended if Jeff Bezos had not left the hedge fund?

What would have happened in the above four scenarios is that only 4 employment opportunities and livelihoods of four families would have been created but 1,000 job opportunities have been created and livelihoods of other 1,000 families enhanced because they were a "waste of brains" to leave the employment and become entrepreneurs/innovators.

What you forget is that Apple, Google, HP,ford and boeing exist because there was a "waste of brain" for someone who refused employment and decided to be an entrepreneur/innovator

Yes, it is true, most of the consultancy firms like KPMGs, Pricewaterhouse, equity etc do source for top performers from universities... I know some who have declined these jobs.... even the private sector... where i was working before, there was one guy who we tried poaching (in third year UON) and he declined and insisted he wanted to concentrate with his studies. It depends on the course you've taken and the performance
