Excellent results "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

Interesting results...what slowed them down in H2 2013? Apart from the bottomline...the topline is not stellar...anyways EPS is just like for CFC...this stock is a SELL.

I note that Net Change in Contract Liabilities contributed +900m And Fair value gains contributed +800m
PanAfrica Life Assurance Ltd performance was quite tempered with flat revenue and flat profit. Same with the Group Abridged Statement of Cash Flows. So much for this trend of intangible gains in this hard hard world.
With new P/E at 10.7 and dividend yield at 3%, the results are well priced in. As @deal has spoken.

As long as NSE remains choppy insurance firms that count on equity performance will get a rough income shave. EABL & Uchumi showing consumer purchasing power is dented. The Sanlam buy hype is overdone... Time will tell when 100 handle gets tested and lower.
**DTK too is displaying PAFR buy side weakness. Those chasing above 220...$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!
