And that is why most of them cannot even defend their thesis because in the first place they pay someone to do it for them!

Exactly. I was just thinking of the likes of Lupita and wondered whether she would be where she is now if she had gone through the Kenyan education system. There's so much more to life than just passing exams

Its because the focus shifted to exams...its no longer about the intellectual quality or capacity of the individual, its about what grade. I listened to Alliance head explaining they pass well because they make sure they finish the syllabus by 1st March and start rehearsing for the exams after that. Tulikuwa tunaiita gucram; cramming...

sure, reminds me when I went to my kids school for some prize giving /activities and there was this kid who was blazing fast, she competed in sprints with the other kids and she literary did a uasin bolt jog toward the finish -

funny enough the big prize and all the accolades went to the kid who had scored the best grades, even the parent of the fast kid seemed more wowed by the bright kid.

It might seem like good performance but nothing impressive. The system is Churning out" A's" who are poor innovators/ thinkers.

Ditto. And this is a failure of the policy makers. Schooling should not be an end to itself rather a means to an end.

In essence only a quarter of all students sitting an exam should qualify for uni. 27% is within the margin and is OK.
