Are you sure? So your kid scores an A and is admitted for a top course at UoN, but you move him/her to Daystar?

Yes. Very common. Admitted for Engineering at UoN, but opts for BCom at Strath.

What is the reasoning behind this? How is Strath superior to UoN?

There are parents who opt for both, have the kid attend UoN and a parallel at Strath
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

Now you can see why Kenya will never industrialize if the top engineering brains are opting for careers in balancing books. Sad!

Most of them think they are too bright to dirty their hands with engineering stuff. They'd rather do CPA or ACCA and get office jobs with the auditing firms. It makes it easier to understand that most engineering related contracts go to foreign companies. Local companies aren't reliable, e.g Kirinyaga road construction and the likes.

Personally, I have never understood how this helps. It just shows lack of vision(personal view). When I joined THE, most of my classmates were so busy studying CPA or ACCA at Strath yet my programme had no relation to those professional papers.

Let us start with Student to instructor (Lecturer ratio)

Status of infrastructure - read Library lecture halls ICT labs etc..., of course we are discusing mainly the social sciences

I know a good number of engineering graduates who are busy auditing company books.

I know several Elec/Civil/Computer Engineering graduates of JKUAT who work at PWC. One actually was sent to audit a health institution that I knew about and we had a laugh when he couldn't even walk on the corridors for fear of contracting TB. Another works for CitiBank.

Undergraduate in Eng at UoN and BCom at Strath at the same time? No way. He will fail one of the courses or both of them.
