The more I look the more I fear that the Church doesn't exist. The institutions that lay claim to being the Church are full of accusations. One to the other. Are you two exclusive or do you see other people? Is @tycho a kenyan being?does he speak swahili?does he eat like everybody does? @tycho is the wind. He blows across the continents, and his food is God's breath. What do you eat?

Wazuans should just respond to posts they understand. They should not be quick to gag others. If you can't understand pray that your peer(thought-wise or intellectually)posts and you respond. No need to infringe on wazuan's right to post, it is cardinal right enshrined in the Wazuan Constitution.

Threads should promote conversation and communication not monopoly and monolization! In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins - cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later - H Geneen

I believe there is a generation of parents that let their guard down, those that currently have teenagers in their households, they that do not believe in corporal punishment, they that believe in being friends with their children, they that believe children have rights, and those rights include freedom to do sleepovers, go for parties. Then we want to run to the Mavunos of this world, and ask them to vuna our lost sons and daughters. Now i understand why my good old SDA church would not bend when it comes to trousers in church. Honestly, these kids are having sex as early as 10, the parents are busy making money and conquering the world and losing the most important things, if you cannot afford the time to parent your kids, kindly take them to boarding schools. Monitor what they watch on TV etc during the holidays, get to know their friends. This video tells it all, tell me what they do during the night considering this was in broad daylight. Made in Kenya

@CLK, I want to agree with you. Many parents today believe that their children have rights on everything, the other day I saw on KTN and parent complaining that her kid had been denied entry into a school because she had long hair. That school has over 500 pupils who have all obeyed this simple rule but to this parent the school was infringing on the rights of her daughter, we must believe in rules and we must raise our kids believing that they must abide by some rules, otherwise the result will be us running to Mavuno to vuna the little left in our kids!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Sadly some parents are even administering contraceptives for their daughters, you wonder why? I still believe in the good old, where you were not supposed to go to your neighbour's house, you were not to be seen talking to a boy and we had curfew for 6pm, and breaking any rules would result in thorough beatings. And to top it all, we did not have a television and it was illegal to go watch it at the neighbor's.

CLK wrote: if you cannot afford the time to parent your kids, kindly take them to boarding schools. Made in Kenya @ CLK, I share your other sentiments, except the above. Kids as young as 6 years are being shipped to boarding schools, why? To some parents, its to get them out of the way so they can do whatever it is they want to do. Some parents have the best intention, but to a child, you always wonder why you are being taken away. I'd rather they remained seeds if parents wont be there to nurture them into adulthood. That's how kids come home and tell you, e.g. i knew i was gay when i was 7 or something else. Some do well, but others just withdraw and become indifferent. And you won't understand how it happened. Be there for your child(ren) if you choose to have kids. Maybe in high school you can take them to develop some other social skills. I watched the video and all i could do was shake my head. I can't blame the teens. How did they develop such guts? You don't wake up one day and decide to disrespect yourself (which i think i what they are doing). It's a process. And parents have provided the most conducive environment for that to happen. IMHO, the poster from mavuno is just a reflection of parenting today.

People take time to research, study et al when it comes to money matters. Sometimes doing so over a long period of time before execution. They make informed conscious choices. Unfortunately, its not the same with their children and with their (and their children's) health. Every choice has a consequence. Its why we have 'How to lose weight' and 'How to change an errant child', 'How to...' Someone once said here 'Majoring on the minors, and minoring on the majors'

I am not quiet sure what the poster intended to achieve, but one thing I know IT"S WRONG!!! The day we start making the bible conform to our attitudes and behaviour rather than the opposite is the day we loose it. “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. We live in a 'multicultural world' and if we don't know how to live in such times, how can we expect the children to know how to live? Schools shouldn't foster conformity, instead they should allow for diversity. @CLK, you were given corporal punishment because you were not in a free world. But the tide is now against oppressive relations. But you remember the issue you had while going for holiday? It's the same thing happening now, only this time you're on the 'righteous' side. And Mavuno is 'wrong'.

If the Bible, or any other holy book doesn't conform to the values of the people who read them, why are there so many factions and religions? It is when we follow your thinking that we lose it.

Do you know in some western countries they want to re-introduce corporal punishment? Anyway the bible says "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them." Nowadays "we" are too "learned" and "exposed" that we want to change the basics. “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. And Mavuno is 'wrong'. Schools have rules and regulations and if the parents feel the rules do not serve their needs, they should look elsewhere or do home schooling. And yes. Schools should foster conformity. Coz as the kids grow, they have traffic rules to adhere to, the constitution, policies where they work etc... Lord, thank you!

If you mean parents can control most of what a child does, then you aren't being truthful. But if you mean make a child understand by continuous engagement and example, then I can agree with you. Children are intelligent and you don't have to force them into submission.
