Yes @ McReggae!! We should...How else are we going to nurture our own entertainers if we do not give them support!
@Kaigangio you are missing the point. We are not saying it was wrong for her to try. We are only providing feedback. Personally, I would want to see her succeed. But how shall she succeed if we dont tell her the truth? How shall she be able to compete with other established comedians if we dont tell her when her show is below par? She can only grow if we tell her the truth. Applauding mediocrity is not one of them. Suppose one of your friends was producing a product that you really want him to succeed in. And you are one of his customer. Then he delivers a pathetic product.
Would you applaud him coz he tried or would you tell him he should up his game to compete in the market? Truth is the way to go, not to papasa papasa failure points.
@Washiku...I would first give that appreciation of the fact that he tried (this is more or less encouraging him to continue with the venture despite his failure) and then point out to him why the product was not satisfactory (more or less like telling him why I did not like his product)...
What most of us are doing here is to write off the comedian completely without giving any solutions which is wrong...Like I said earlier one swallow does not make a summer...It will take some time before she polishes the show and even the lady and Royal media fellows know it...
@ Wanjiku, tell me what would you feel if one day you went to a butchery and bought half a kg of meat (not forgetting that is all that you could afford at the time), went home and gave it to your wife happily and smilingly, and she looks at it and tells you to put it in the fridge and asks you sarcastically "is this the best you could do?"
...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...
