@Lolest gay practice is haram in Islam. It is illegal and punishable in Islamic countries. If some people do it (in closed doors), then they are doing something illegal and they know the punishment if caught. Because it is very clear what Islam says about adultery, fornication, murder etc. There is totally no place for it in Islam.

But you can't tell me it is rampant. These allegations that gayism is rampant in UAE and etc etc is just porojo. You say some guy told you Muslim men believe sex with women is just for procreation! These stories are created by the media. They just write articles to allege about UAE. This is the system they use to mock and potrayed Islam, supported by international political systems. Please get it that adultery and homosexual is haram.

Of course, these things may happen, but not in this way or magnitude. But the media creates a hype to give that impression that there is rampant act of this or that among Muslims.
They don't tell you that their own countries are on the forefront. It is something they blow out of proportion. Whether it is really happening or not, they exaggerate a lot.

But evidence speak for themselves:

@chepkel isn't gay practice illegal in Egypt? And you say there is a gay club in Egypt! You would already know how it is to be gay in Egypt. You would know it is very hard, because no one should find out. And if someone finds out, you will be shamed or even risk being executed.

I think it is the people from outside, the foreigners, who come with these kind of activities (includes alcohol). I remember one time you complained that you want to be left alone to do what you want to do, drink and go clubbing. Does it mean other like minded people already found ways of escaping long arm of the law in Egypt and practicing homosexualism in public? But they should know if caught, they would face problems with the police.

Also, if you were honest, you would already know Arabic culture as far as friends and holding hands in public is concerned. It is what they do in Egypt too. I would believe you already also know that it is Arabic culture to greet each other with a kiss on the cheeks, nothing unusual about this. I'm sure you were shocked. I don't think you had seen men hold hands as they walk around (not even at home where you come from in the Rift!) But you should have been number one person to tell everybody in Wazua that in Arabic culture, this is normal, as a sign of friendship and can be seen everywhere. But any deeper display of affection is not allowed.

You allege that you see some "scene", please document them and share.

But again, I'm not saying there are no gay people there, we know they are there.
And most of the contacts are made with foreigners. It happens in many other places in the world, everywhere, even in Kenya. And they do it in the closed doors.

Middle East, Cheek kissing in the Arab world is relatively common, between friends and relatives

French president Charles de Gaulle kisses Argentine president Arturo Illia in 1964.

@AlphDoti, you need to spend time in these places uone!! all this segregation is not healthy!! its breeding an evil that is more unacceptable that what happens between boys and girls. perhaps the reason its common is because it does not have repercussions - no pregnancy e.t.c. these countries may passionately rebuke homosexuality on the face of it but as explained by the afghans - they do not see a 1 on 1 correlation between sodomy and homosexuality. sodomy is what they do but they are not 'in love' with men... at least that is what they say!

Afghan, UAE, and now to segregation?

I have spent time in these places... Saudia, UAE, Sudan, far East etc. I have gone out during the day and at night. Compared to other societies like even our own country or US or Europe or SA is a joke.

I already told you this practice in Afghanistan area is ancient, which was part of culture.
Reports say it is practiced by some well connected, wealthy people. Money is not their problem, they could marry until four wives if they wanted. So the question of segregation does not arise.

These are practicing sexual slavery and child prostitution. They even illegally sell adolescent boys to rich or powerful men for entertainment and sexual activities. It has been reported that this business is secretly done there in Afghanistan. Of course, the authorities are attempting to crack down on the practice but many doubt it would be effective since many of the men are powerful and well connected armed former commanders.

So @masukuma, true Muslims do not confuse "sodomy" and "homosexuality". They know it is one and the same and it is haram. Those involved in it are probably just born muslims but they are not muslims in the heart.

hehe... no one is perfect!! there is a certain place in Afghanistan (a 100% islamic country the only other religion practiced there happens in chapel in the Italian Embassy and in some homes of some very very few persons of other religions) called Kandahar. The problem with this country and possibly most islamic nations (saw this in the north of pakistan as well) is that they look down on male -female relations in public and so boys generally grow up together and its not strange to find a group of boys walking hand in hand - creepy? they don't think so! some guy once hugged me as i was saying shaking his hand as I was saying bye and i felt that he had intruded on my personal space , in a trip down north i once saw two men spooning by the roadside while selling their wares!!! anyway - back to my story... this was all 'reasonable' based on the culture in those countries i.e. women are simply unapproachable that was until I got to know about Afghanistan's dirty little secret i.e. a goat for necessity,a woman for children, a boy for pleasure!! the joke is that birds flying over Kandahar fly with one wing! the other one is covering their posterior!

Same case in Egypt also. Men and women barely shake hands. But men and men kiss and hug and show soo much affection. it is natural here for a man to tell another man that he is soo handsome and he misses him terribly. I mean culture shock is on me till this day. And i hear of a lot of homosexual talk though I am not be surprised considering how men treat each other. I have even been to a gay Bar in downtown Alexandria. Yeah!!! They definitely were gay.

Another thing, there is not a day that goes by without a dude showing me his dick out on the streets. In broad daylight!!! its utterly disgusting. This is what they do, there is such a high level of sexual tension here and the men will try all ways of suppressing it. They consider foreign women to be very easy and loose so he thinks that if he show me his thing i will quickly accept to follow him home. Such sickos.

The worst thing that happens here is Sexual harassment. Egypt is known to be the worst Arab country in terms of sexual harassment. Men will inappropriately touch women on the streets in front of other people in broad daylight. its even worse at night. The worst thing is that the society blames the women claiming that we are inappropriately dressed ama we are tempting the dude. But come on!!! Can you even dare to show off your arms in an islamic country?? So women just suffer in silence. It is soo sad. This happened to me once. I almost died!!! And people on the streets will only offer a small apology. Some kids who looked like they were between 10 and 15 years old followed me once and one touched my boobs. He thought I would let him off easy, I almost cut off his head!!

One thing I can say for sure, Arab countries (read Islamic countries), and @Alphdoti am saying a fact because I live it everyday, are waaaayyyyy worse than the rest of the world when it comes to matters of sexuality. There is sooo much immorality here. The only difference is that they hide and cover it up, when people in kenya, for example, show it openly. They preach water and drink wine. I mean you can never invite a friend who is a guy to your house he will automatically think you want to have sex with him. The pornography here is appalling plus people have sex in dark corners at night at the beach because they do not have any where private to do it. OMG!!!!

Woooiiiii Afadhali shetani yetu huko kenya mara ka 50. LOL.

Damn, these folks are totally nuts. Not a day goes by without a guy flashing you? Sad to hear how mannerless these people are. You should slap the crap out of someone one of these days if he/she tries anything funny.

i always wanted you to differentiate these two groups. i totally agree with you on this statement! it's exactly the same case in Christianity - we have people with 'jewish', 'english', 'welsh', 'german' or 'scotish' names. who on sunday go to church as part of culture - coz that is what people around them do or sometimes don't! in your eyes these are 'christians' but are they? they just have 'christian sounding' names.

on segregation - it's not about older folk, it should be the teens and young adults. older fellows are more obsessed with other things. they don't seem to behave like the young. @chepkel - who was flashing you?
