For individuals with money, there are plenty of opportunities for this. Mombasa has no decent team to represent it. Yet there is a huge fan base there. Mombasa people like football. Congo Boys was starting to create a fanatical fan base during the 1 year they played in KPL.

Other big towns also . There is a fan base ready and waiting. This is why Tusker has moved to Meru and Sofapaka have moved to Machakos.

A well run team can make money. With a proper youth development scheme, you will be able to sell players to other teams at home and abroad. I am looking at FISA academy and in recent years they have been able to sell players like Patrick Oboya to the Czech league and now Paul Were is going to SA.

Even Thika United have had some success in this regard. Over the years they have sold players to SA and elsewehere. But Thika has not connected with its huge potential fan base. I am not sure if the problem is poor marketing or just lack of interest in Thika.

A town like Eldoret would be a good bet. I remember back in the day when Rivatex was doing well; The Kipchoge stadium would be jam packed especially when other big teams came to town.

The two biggest clubs we have here are gor and afc which are tribal clubs. This means that for an investor to start a club and match the kind of fan base those clubs command they need to invest in clubs that also represent certain tribes like kapkatet fc for the kale, sidai fc for the maasai or inchwo fc for the kisii. When thika hosts gor in Thika stadium most of the fans will be gor fans, I hope I don't need to explain why. the problem with thika is not because hype or lack of organisation , but by factors beyond it's reach.
In my opinion ,clubs like gor should be renamed like kisumu fc. In order to include some clubs from other Towns in luo land.
Fkf should either allow more tribal teams, or disband the current ones and allow teams based in Towns or counties for the sake of the game.

Actually this can really work. But unless you want to start small (in your own club) i think it can be a bit expensive. I actually thought of such a venture i usually see how some small clubs survive here and think you need to apply that locally.
You just need a good field players are there and fans will come. Advertising will follow and then profits will follow later.
